RATIO® tuners by Graph Tech
This tuner feature patented gear technology with individually calibrated gear ratios for each string—ranging from 39:1 on the low E to 12:1 on the high E. This unique design ensures that every string responds evenly to tuning adjustments, making tuning faster, more intuitive, and consistent across the fretboard. With RATIO®, a half-turn always equals a semi-tone—delivering precise and predictable tuning for every string. 4 different sets of InvisoMatch mounting plates in brushed aluminum are included to make installation on most guitars fast and accurate by using your existing screw mounting holes.

Pickup
We’re all about giving you the freedom to shape your tone and voicing your way.
Our guitars come equipped with a selection of high-quality pickups from trusted names like DiMarzio, Seymour Duncan, Lollar, and more. These time-tested options deliver the tone, reliability, and dynamic response that experienced players demand.
We’ve also collaborated with local pickup builder Ganee Pickup to create something uniquely ours: the Marksman Series. These prototypes were first installed in our MS-625 and MD-525 models back in 2022, designed to bring out the full character of our guitars with a distinct tone and voicing.
Looking for something truly custom? We offer handwound pickups, built to your exact specifications. Through our Online Order Form, you can choose materials, voicing, and details to shape a set of pickups that reflects your unique sound.
Prefer to use your own pickups? Absolutely. We welcome customer-supplied pickups for any custom build, as long as they meet our terms and conditions. Just send us your preferred set, and we’ll integrate them with the same attention to detail we bring to every Markland guitar. Tone is personal — we’re here to help you make it yours.
Nut
One of our key choices is Tusq by Graph Tech, a highly engineered synthetic material designed to replicate the tonal qualities of natural ivory while offering greater consistency and stability. Tusq nuts deliver a balanced tone across all strings, enhancing sustain and improving tuning stability by reducing friction where the strings contact the nut. This is especially important for players who use tremolo systems or perform heavy bends, as Tusq helps maintain smooth string movement and precise tuning.
In addition to Tusq, we also use natural bone nuts, a traditional material prized by luthiers worldwide for its warm, rich resonance and excellent vibration transfer. Bone nuts contribute to a full-bodied tone with enhanced sustain, making them a favorite for players seeking classic vintage sound and feel. Bone’s organic properties allow it to subtly shape the tonal character of the instrument, delivering depth and complexity.
We understand that individual playing techniques and hand sizes necessitate different string spacing. To accommodate this, we offer three specific nut width options, each paired with carefully calibrated string spacing:
-
Narrow Spacing — Ideal for players who prefer close string proximity for faster fretting and smoother chord transitions. Commonly used in jazz or lead guitar setups.
-
Standard Spacing — Our default spacing option, providing a balanced feel suitable for a wide range of playing styles and genres. It offers enough string separation for clear articulation while maintaining comfort.
-
Wide Spacing — Designed for hybrid fingerstyle players or those with larger hands, wide spacing facilitates easier string plucking and reduced string interference, enhancing note clarity and dynamics.
Custom Guitar Wiring : Crafting Your Perfect Tone
We believe that exceptional tone begins with meticulous attention to every internal detail—including custom guitar wiring. Our wiring designs are crafted to unlock the full sonic potential of each instrument, enhancing tonal versatility and playability. Whether it’s smooth coil-splitting for bright, single-coil clarity, rich series tones for thicker sustain, or precision switching options for expanded sound palettes, every wiring scheme is engineered with premium components to ensure reliability, clarity, and tuning stability. This careful integration complements our choice of tonewoods, pickups, and hardware, delivering seamless performance across our guitar lines.
From the versatile Genesis Core to the classic-inspired Imera Modern, each Markland guitar features wiring tailored to its unique voice and scale length—offering options for articulate clarity or vintage warmth. Our ergonomic control layouts and intuitive switching make dialing in your ideal tone effortless, whether on stage, in the studio, or at home. We claimed, custom wiring is more than a technical detail; it’s a core part of our commitment to crafting instruments that feel like a natural extension of the player, empowering you to explore your tone and guitar voicing with confidence.
