Markland Guitarworks | FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
We know that building or owning a custom guitar raises many important questions—from materials and hardware choices to ordering, setup, and long-term care. This page brings together clear, helpful answers to guide you through every step of the process. Whether you're exploring specifications, understanding build times, or learning more about finishes and warranty coverage, these guitar insights are here to help you make confident decisions.
We are based in West Java, Indonesia. All of our guitars are designed, assembled, and quality-checked in-house at our workshop. While we collaborate with trusted partners to source select materials and components, every instrument undergoes final inspection, setup, and playability checks by our experienced team before delivery.
Each Markland Guitarworks purchase includes your custom-built guitar, the selected hard case type, a certificate of authenticity, detailed product specifications, a complimentary setup tool kit, and an extra set of strings. Depending on your chosen options, additional accessories—such as a strap or polishing cloth—may also be included with your order.
The build time for a custom guitar varies depending on the complexity of the specifications and our current production schedule. On average, a custom build takes approximately 3–6 months to complete. More complex designs—such as advanced construction methods, intricate finishes, or highly specialized hardware—may require 6–8 months. Once your order is confirmed, we will provide a clear estimated timeline based on your specific build.
All custom orders undergo a review process prior to the issuance of an order number. During this stage, we can accommodate certain changes to your specifications. However, once an order number has been assigned and the build enters our production queue, no further modifications can be made. We kindly ask that you review your selections thoroughly before finalizing payment and submission. For any concerns or change requests, please contact us at admin@marklandguitarworks.com.
At Markland Guitarworks, we honor and respect the originality of classic guitar designs. While our models may be inspired by traditional shapes, we do not replicate or directly copy trademarked designs such as the Stratocaster, Telecaster, or other protected body styles. Instead, we offer unique Markland designs that can be customized to suit your tonal and aesthetic preferences.
Markland Guitarworks focuses on original designs and customizations developed from our existing models. While we’re happy to explore unique specifications and personalized details, please note that we do not replicate or produce instruments based on other brands’ designs or copyrighted shapes.
If you have a specific concept in mind, feel free to reach out. We’re always open to discussing custom ideas within our design framework, and we truly appreciate your support of original design and craftsmanship.
The base price of a custom guitar depends on the level of customization rather than the label itself. At Markland Guitarworks, pricing is structured across three defined tiers, each reflecting the scope of materials, construction methods, and design flexibility involved.
Our standard guitar start at USD 850, offering a professionally built instrument on a fixed design platform. Semi-Custom builds begin at USD 1,110, allowing for expanded options such as alternative neck constructions, multiscale configurations, and upgraded materials. Full Custom guitars start at USD 1,500, where specifications are developed entirely around the player’s requirements.
Final pricing may vary based on selected materials, hardware, electronics, and finishing options, but these base prices provide a clear starting point for each level. Please find more details and feature comparisons in our blog.
